In this role, you will focus on end-to-end development & delivery of learning experiences that factor in the needs of employees, customers, and the business.  A successful candidate will have experience in project management, adult learning theory, content development, and training facilitation. You should be passionate about helping people learn and grow, finding ways to help new teammates excel, and be a problem solver when roadblocks or issues arise. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role. 

The Instructional Design & Training Facilitation Specialist will create engaging learning experiences, develop & analyze content to improve performance across the organization, and facilitate training ensuring it delivers the expected outcomes.  The role involves consulting with stakeholders from diverse disciplines to identify learning goals and applicable evidence-based instructional strategies. This position also requires a significant time commitment dedicated to directly facilitating remote training sessions for employees, with a strong emphasis on active, hands-on instruction and learner engagement. Training programs typically include: new hire onboarding training geared toward specific customer accounts, ongoing training to ensure skills are sharp and ever-evolving, supervisory or leadership training, work skills training, team building, and other training programs to address the needs of employees or customer accounts. 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage multiple learning projects, priorities, and expectations through effective communication, cross-functional collaboration, and interpersonal skills enabled through technology.
  • Assist with the analysis, design, development, and delivery of talent development solutions and programs utilizing best practice instructional design models and delivery approaches.
  • Integrate various learning components, including instructor-led, micro and e-learnings, social, and experiential, into cohesive blended learning solutions that meet business needs. 
  • Analyze, update, and refine existing content.
  • Drive evidence-informed, high-quality design of relevant learning experiences and performance-enhancing solutions determined by the audience and learning objectives.
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures. Oversee and conduct the Train the Trainer process for new programs.
  • Develop instructors’ manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
  • Provide input to the training strategy and align key stakeholders on design strategies by influencing through critical thinking.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to create curated and structured learning paths to develop critical knowledge and/or emerging skills.
  • Identify reporting mechanisms and communication approaches to share learning outcomes with key stakeholders.
  • Continue to learn about new and better ways to design and deliver learning solutions by staying current on industry research, theory, trends, methods, and techniques, and serve as a subject matter expert and consultant.
  • Assist with the evaluation and assessment of emerging technologies for modernizing the learning experience and evolving the L&D strategy

Required Education and Experience

  • BS in instructional design, education, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in instructional design
  • 2+ years of experience with content creation, creating training from scratch, and building learning strategies at a large scale
  • 2+ years of experience delivering employee training through live facilitation in a professional remote setting
  • 2+ years of experience in Corporate/Business learning design and development
  • Knowledge of and practical application of Adult Learning Theory and instructional design principles, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong development experience with Articulate, Video editing, AI tools, and content storyboarding.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Strong desire and motivation to actively lead and facilitate training sessions, regularly engaging directly with learners in both individual and group settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of call/contact center experience
  • Proficiency and familiarity with Talent Management and career paths.
  • Understanding of website design best practices.
  • Visual storytelling/visual creation/visual design skills. 
  • Analytical skills to uncover the root cause and develop improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with military demographics. 

Additional Information: 
  • Estimated 40 hours a week and weekends as needed.
  • Primarily M-F with core hours between 8a-5p.
  • Supervisory responsibility when facilitating a class.
  • Equipment is not provided.
